Shower of Reiki

Reiki, a Japanese word, is usually translated as universal energy because it is everywhere and everywhen. We don’t need to do anything special to receive it, because it is already all around us and within us, healing, keeping us balanced, abundant and effective in this world. However, this is an age of awakening, an age of light, and if we are unaware of this healing light, we can get lost in suffering, in pain, in lack, in weakness.

What does this have to do with a Reiki shower? This is something anyone can do, and I specially recommend it to students before they come for initiation, and every day.

You can do this exercise when you are having a shower, a bucket bath – or if you’re lucky, a shower under a waterfall! You can also do this if you are meditating or sitting. If you practice yoga, you can do this in Tadasana  or Samasthiti or mountain pose.

shower of light

Sense light from a source that is pure unconditional love.

Like a shower of water, this loving light flows over you, bathing your physical body, your emotional body, your mental body, and connecting you to the divine essence.

Feel the light bathing you in love, filling you with love, until it overflows from you.

The loving light radiates from you to all the people and animals and plants that you love, and radiates out to all who are near you.

Feel the loving light radiating out, and then come back to your center, to your breath.

Breathe in light. Breathe out light. Take three breaths, to center and ground yourself.

Smile and if your eyes were closed, gently open them.

Did you start with a smile?

This is an exercise that helps with energy hygiene and helps us to see that we are attracting what is beneficial in our life.

In loving light,
