I read something today that rang a bell. Yes, it’s true –
Nothing hurts a good soul and a kind heart more than to live amongst people who cannot understand it.
― Hazrat Ali Ibn Abu-Talib A.S
Taking the thought further, the people in your life who understand you are the ones who bring that smile to your heart. How do you bridge that gap between those who ‘get’ you and those who do not?
The answer is simple, the process is a journey:
Shine your light.
Shine – A balance between blazing and hiding, for blazing can burn others and hiding injures oneself. The guideposts given by those you admire, alive now or in the past, famous or familiar, in words or actions – these help you to learn how to shine. One light coming from many windows.
Your – That’s the core, isn’t it? Find the You, the I AM, the person ‘you’ call ‘I’.
Light – The essence – when the ‘I’ reveals itself, there is light. Knowledge becomes knowing, understanding becomes empathy, caring becomes compassion, loving becomes love.Shine your light.
No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, that those who come in may see the light. ~Jesus quoted by Luke in World English Bible
There are many walking the world with us who are helping one another to wake up and shine their light. Look around you – a child, a teacher, a healer, a student. Reach out your hand. Help, be helped. Together, we are on a journey to wholeness.
I have sent you nothing but angels.
― Neale Donald Walsch, Conversations With God
I remember a song from childhood.
This little guiding light of mine. I’m going to let it shine. Let it shine. All the time, let it shine. ~Harry Dixon Loes
Shine your light. It is your own little smile that is lighting up this world.
~ In loving light
